Establishment of The Grand Lodge Of Alberta

The Grand Lodge of Alberta was formed in October 1905 after Alberta became a province. It was officially constituted on October 12, 1905

1882

Inauguration of Saskatchewan Lodge

The establishment of the first Freemasons’ Lodge outside the boundaries of Manitoba. It was instituted on Feb 13, 1882 and consecrated on April 21, 1883 

1897

Formation of Strathcona Lodge

The first Worshipful Master was a lawyer, A. C. Rutherford, who was to become the first Premier of Alberta and later the Chancellor of the new University of Alberta.

1919

Ross Sheppard Initiated in Acacia Lodge No. 11

Instumental in the development of the Alberta Masonic Higher Education Bursary Fund, which has provided millions of dollars of support.
